"Forging Ahead"

National Elk Refuge – Jackson, Wyoming

The snow is not yet deep as winter is just beginning in this part of the country, but you can already see the forbidding conditions faced by wildlife in this area. The National Elk Refuge has helped millions of elk survive the harsh winters here, but still only the healthy and hearty survive.

On display Dec 6 - Feb 8, 2004 at Wildlife Experience

"Ulaq and Berit"
Denver Zoo - Denver Colorado

Nature's Best Magazine has this to say:
Eberhart had come to the Denver Zoo in the spring to see Ulaq and Berit. It was his last chance to watch these polar bears play before they were moved to their new home at the Cincinnati Zoo. As he began observing the adolescents, he saw a pattern of behavior developing. "I positioned myself to the side of the action and waited until the cub rose up from the water. I was hoping something interesting would happen."
Eberhart got his wish, proving once again that "patience is the main ingredient in good wildlife photography."
