Why do I call it ‘Extraordinary Moments’?
It seems to me that the really striking and memorable events we encounter are of mere moments. Quite often I am asked, “How did you know what day to go out on?” My answer is not so much what day to go, because extraordinary things happen daily, but what moment do I pick. I am challenged to look at each day for the possibilities it presents and this creates excitement and enjoyment of life. As I recall my many experiences over the years I find a common thread runs through them. My memories are of moments, and not of hours or days for the most part. Ordinary moments are what most of a day is made of and we forget them as quickly as they happen. What we live and strive for is the extra stuff. We remember the first time we heard a special song we now love, or our first kiss with one we love. Nature as it turns out has these moments as well. Moments when the sky is on fire, and seconds later it is gone. Wildlife will act in memorable fashion, but in the blink of an eye it is over, never to be seen again. I have experienced these fleeting moments many times, but have lost more than I have captured in life. So my goal is to capture those extra moments on film so that you can experience them as well. I have done my job if you can step into my footprints and experience that extraordinary moment.
